Your risk of injury and accidents increase. Regular poor sleep can also put you at risk of serious health conditions. It is now clear that a solid nights sleep, is fundamental to leading a long and healthy lifestyle.

My story

I feel now would be a good time to introduce myself…

I would like to tell you a little bit about me and explain why I’m asking you to place your trust in me.

I’m Rachel Fountain a Child Sleep Coach, certified by the CPD & The Sleep Nanny. I am the founder of The Sleep Retreat. I am a wife (to the man in the photo to the right) but most importantly a mum of two wonderful boys, my eldest is the whole reason I became a sleep coach and is the reason I can relate to you as a parent (also in the photo).

I understand your situation, what you are going through, how you are feeling. I pride myself on being relatable to you. I have been there! Sleep deprivation is no joke! 

My brain was fried, my body was ruined, my temper was at an all-time high, my mood was at an all-time low. I was pretty much broken!

However I didn't know how to fix it, I kept telling myself 'it will get better as time goes on', 'its just a phase!' so I stayed in this same sleep-deprived state, till Alfie (my eldest) was nearly 18 months old!!! 

It wasn't until we have just moved into our new house and our second way due any minute that I decided to take action. This is when I hired a sleep coach and I learnt that sleep is a learned skill. Its not something that just happens for the majority of children born into this world. It made complete sense, you teach your child to eat food through weaning, you teach them to swim, ride a bike, how to walk, stand, run, behave. So why wouldn't you teach them how to sleep?

Sleep training works! It doesn't have to be harsh, or detrimental to their well-being. It can be completely responsive, gentle and reassuring. My story is the reason, I became a sleep consultant. My aim is to help as many families as possible, who are in the same position as I was, or hopefully before they get to the stage that I was at.
